One of the oldest European graveyards in Massachusetts is getting a walking tour.
The Marblehead Museum will debut the tour of Old Burial Hill on Friday, Oct. 9 and Friday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m., led by director Dan Marshall. Established around Marblehead's first meetinghouse in 1638, the hill holds the people laid to rest over the past 350 years, and the tour covers funeral practices of the past, the carvers who worked the stone and the symbolism of the artwork.
The program involves walking, standing and stairs. Tickets are $10 for museum members and $15 for the public, available on the museum's website or by calling 781-631-1768.
