BOSTON — Gov. Maura Healey has released nearly $200,000 in state funding earmarked for Marblehead and Swampscott projects in the fiscal 2026 budget.

The allocations, secured by the local legislative delegation, are part of the $61.01 billion state budget signed in July. The funding is now available for recipients through the appropriate state agencies, officials said.

Marblehead will receive $50,000 for cemetery infrastructure improvements and $35,000 for police equipment upgrades. Swampscott will receive $35,000 for track and field repairs at Swampscott High School and $25,000 for Council on Aging facilities upgrades. Another $50,000 will support Girls on the Run of Greater Boston, which provides physical activity programs for elementary and middle school girls.

“Delivering a balanced and robust budget in spite of federal turmoil highlights our commitment to protecting the core values of our Commonwealth,” Sen. Brendan Crighton said in a statement. “We are proud of this final budget that provides critical funding for transportation, housing, education, and many other services that impact our constituents’ daily lives.”

“At a time of uncertainty on the federal level, Massachusetts continues to lead with stability, compassion, and a commitment to our communities,” said state Rep. Jenny Armini. “These local investments reflect our shared belief that government should be a force for good, meeting people where they are and helping our towns thrive.”

The earmarks are not subject to MBTA Communities Act compliance requirements, according to the release.
