A major winter storm buried town streets, sidewalks and driveways under heavy snow and wind-driven drifts, leaving residents and crews carving narrow passages, clearing cars and doorways and digging out fire hydrants as conditions improved. Even as the cleanup began, the storm left small scenes of stillness and contrast — from ducks riding out the weather in the harbor to tulips glowing behind an ice-framed window – captured by our photographer Paula Muller.
