To the editor:

I am tired of polite, establishment Democratic candidates. It is time for us to put one of our own in office. A mother, a fighter, a working-class woman that paid her own way through Salem State and worked for everything she has.

Jamie was a state representative, a town moderator and founder of a nonprofit called Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance that has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for mamas and babies. If you have been following the trial of Lindsay Clancy, I am sure we can agree that what happened should never happen again. Jamie has been working on this cause for more than a decade while simultaneously raising children and serving in elected office. She is the total package!

Jamie will go to Congress to bring money and services back to us in the 6th District. She will never stop fighting for what is needed for our public education, mental health and overall quality of life. She does not want to be a senator or the president, she wants to give back to the district she was born in, where she raised her children and make it a better place for her future grandchildren. Do not be fooled by ads on television and enough mailers to wallpaper your master bedroom, that is money from personal wealth and deep-pocket donors. Belsito has raised her money through grass roots donations and will stand with her constituents, at our public schools, on picket lines and in the halls of Congress.

Vote Jamie Zahloway Belsito in the Democratic primary for 6th District of the U.S. House of Representatives on Sept. 1.
