To the editor:
On behalf of the Marblehead Museum, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the community for making our recent tag sale a resounding success. It is truly an event that is loved and supported by the community and beyond.
The success of this sale is due to the incredible leadership of Barbara Wright and Christine Nuccio, who ran the event flawlessly. They were ably assisted by the tireless, hands-on efforts of Elizabeth Freeto, Jarrett Zeman, Rick Dodge, dedicated members of the board and our wonderful volunteers who worked behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly.
Reflecting on the event, Wright stated that she was overwhelmed by the sincerity of the people who showed up to contribute. Whether donating one or two special items or boxes filled with 50 objects, everyone shared a genuine happiness at being able to participate by gifting the museum a treasure. In fact, the volume of donations was so immense this year that we had to stop accepting items a few days earlier than planned.
We also want to thank our diverse crowd of supporters. Our early dealers and collectors started the day with great enthusiasm, and the local, casual traffic beautifully balanced out the afternoon.
The funds raised are vital to our mission. They will directly support our educational programs, the preservation of our historic properties and the care of our archives. Thank you for helping us keep Marblehead's rich history alive.
Sincerely,
Patty Pederson
Board president of the Marblehead Museum
