Marblehead’s trick-or-treaters took their time Saturday. Most of the costumes didn’t come out until close to dark, and the last of the light went quickly.
On Pickwick Road, families walked down the middle of the street, parents pushed strollers, and hedges and porches glowed purple and orange. Elsewhere, paper ghosts lit the walkway to the Fitzgerald family’s front door, Scottie and Lindsey Smith went as a cop and a robber, and Bryson Allen made the rounds as a glowing stick figure.
Not everyone was out collecting candy. On Shetland Road, neighbors pulled chairs around a fire pit while ghosts and jack-o’-lanterns played across an outdoor screen.
Independent photographer Katie Ring followed the evening from the last of the daylight into the dark.
