Marblehead Little Theatre and the Marblehead Festival of Arts will present “America the Beautiful,” a family-friendly song-and-dance revue July 3 and 4 at Marblehead Little Theatre, 12 School St.
The show will mark the nation’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and will feature local performers of all ages. It is being offered by Betty Lautner, Anne Marilyn Lucas and Erin Pelikhov in partnership with the festival.
A ticketed performance is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children and are available at mltlive.org.
A free, condensed performance will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 4, on the Marblehead Little Theatre patio, weather permitting. The Friday performance will be held indoors.
Lautner, a Marblehead Little Theatre board member, has been involved with the organization since 1979. A local music teacher, she has staged music revues at Marblehead Little Theatre and other community theater organizations. Her first Marblehead Little Theatre role was Meg in “Brigadoon.” She is from New York City and has appeared in Broadway and television productions and on the concert stage.
Pelikhov is president of the Marblehead Little Theatre board of directors, as well as a local dance teacher and choreographer.
Lucas, a Marblehead Little Theatre board member, wrote the script connecting the show’s songs. Her plays have been produced in New York City, Boston, Kansas and Greece, and her work has been staged at Theatre for the New City, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Gloucester Stage, Marblehead Little Theatre, the House of the Seven Gables and Salem Theatre Company.
Marblehead Little Theatre was founded in 1955 by members of the Marblehead Women’s Club and is one of the oldest community theater groups in New England.
