Marblehead Museum to host talk on Devereux neighborhood history

Table of Contents

The Marblehead Museum will host historic preservationist John Clemson for a talk titled “The Devereux Neighborhood: A History” at 7 p.m. Nov. 20.

Clemson will trace the neighborhood’s transformation from an agricultural area to a residential community served by railroad and streetcar lines from 1870 to 1940, using historic maps and images. The talk draws partly from a Historic Properties Survey he completed for the Marblehead Historical Commission in 2023.

Tickets cost $10 for museum members and $15 for the public, available for in-person or Zoom attendance at marbleheadmuseum.org or by calling 781-631-1768.
