Residents along Pleasant Street and Evans Road will lose driveway access and on-street parking Tuesday, Oct. 27, when town paving crews are scheduled to return at 7 a.m. to finish Pleasant Street and pave Evans Road, weather permitting, according to a notice from the Marblehead Department of Public Works.

The work is the latest stretch of a town-wide paving program that the DPW said was set to begin on or after Friday, Oct. 23, on Humphrey Street between Ralph Road and Pleasant Street, then continue Saturday, Oct. 24, on Pleasant Street from Devereux Terrace toward Watson Street “as time allows.”

In paving areas, no on-street parking is allowed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. While crews are working, roads within the paving area are closed to all traffic, driveway access is fully restricted and access to adjacent dead-end roads is restricted, the DPW said. Drivers should expect delays of up to three hours and follow the directions of police details.
