The NorthShore Unitarian Universalist Church will host an art reception and artist talk featuring Cathy Marie Michael on June 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The exhibition, titled "Art as Prayer, Resistance and Joy," features Michael’s pastel portraits of individuals demonstrating strength and resilience against injustice in the U.S. Her collection includes "Motherless Twins," which won Best of Show at the 2025 Marblehead Festival of Arts. To balance the serious tone of her portraiture, the exhibit also includes vibrant pastel landscapes depicting nature.

The event will take place at the church, located at 323 Locust St. Original artwork, giclée prints and magnets will be available for purchase.
