Marblehead Arts Association announces holiday season lineup

The Marblehead Arts Association will celebrate the holidays with a full lineup of art shows, concerts and hands-on workshops from early November through December at the historic Hooper Mansion, 8 Hooper St. All events are open to the public, with free gallery admission and registration required for workshops.

Winter members’ show

The annual Winter Members’ Show opens with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, and runs through Dec. 20. The juried exhibition features paintings, photography, sculpture and mixed media from longtime and newly juried members. Galleries are open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Mussel shell tree workshop

The Mussel Shell Tree Workshop, led by instructor Kelly Loria, will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13. Participants will craft a decorative mussel shell tree and choose a custom finish to create a one-of-a-kind piece.

Kiln-formed glass workshop

Instructor Lisa Richardson-Bach will teach the Kiln-Formed Glass Workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 15. Participants can bring a 6-by-6-inch design to transform into a fused glass artwork. Pieces will be completed at Richardson-Bach’s studio.

Jazz concert with Cassandre McKinley

The 2025 Jazz at the Arts season concludes at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, with a performance by acclaimed jazz vocalist Cassandre McKinley. The concert is presented by the Marblehead Arts Association and Gene Arnould.

Mimosas and merriment

Mimosas and Merriment, a wreath- and garland-making workshop, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22. Guests can create festive decorations while enjoying mimosas in a relaxed, social setting.

Holiday open house

The Holiday Open House will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. Visitors can tour the galleries, view the Winter Members’ Show and enjoy seasonal refreshments amid the mansion’s holiday décor.

Winter Artisan and Craft Fair

The Winter Artisan and Craft Fair will be held Dec. 6 and 7, featuring local artists and craftspeople selling handmade goods. Afternoon tea and desserts will be served in the mansion’s tavern.
