The Marblehead Museum will host "Rough Medicine: A Medical History of the Revolution," a lecture by Dr. Raymond Sullivan, at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 in its J.O.J. Frost Gallery.
Sullivan, a historian, author and lecturer who has spoken extensively on the Revolution and the history of medicine, will discuss 18th-century physicians and surgeons and the diseases and wounds most common among ordinary foot soldiers. He also will cover the career of Nathaniel Bond, surgeon of the original Glover's Regiment during the Revolution.
Sullivan is a member of Glover's Regiment, a re-enactment group whose members will attend the lecture in full costume.
