PHOTO ESSAY: Signs of spring in Marblehead

Warmer days draw residents outdoors as gardens stir, boats return and harborside paths fill with walkers after a long winter.

Spring is beginning to show across Marblehead, and photographer Paula Muller documents those early signs in this photo essay. Her images, taken in several neighborhoods around town, focus on flowers coming into bloom, budding trees and other seasonal changes visible in gardens, along streets and near the shoreline.

The photographs were made on April 12 and include scenes from Beacon Street, Cowell Street, Elm Street, Norman Street, Stacey Street, Pearl Street and the area around Grace Oliver Beach. Together, they reflect the first visible changes of the season in locations familiar to many Marblehead residents.

Presented below, Muller’s photographs are accompanied by cutlines identifying each scene and location. We hope you enjoy Paula’s photos as much as we did.
