The Marblehead Rotary Club will bring back its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, April 5, with families set to gather at Seaside Park for a fast-moving community tradition that organizers say routinely draws a big crowd. In an email to The Independent, Laney Dowling said the hunt will begin at 1:30 p.m. sharp and noted that “100s attend” and “the eggs are gone in a flash.” A follow-up email said the event will again be held at Seaside Park.

The hunt has been a familiar part of Marblehead’s Easter calendar for years. On its website, the Rotary Club has previously listed the event at Seaside Park, behind the Our Lady Star of the Sea Community Center, and said children should be on hand by 1:30 p.m. because thousands of chocolate eggs are usually claimed within five to 10 minutes. Past public postings said the event was weather permitting, open to Marblehead children age 10 and under, and included a separate area for children under 5.
