Snow parking ban in effect until 7 a.m. Saturday

A snow emergency parking ban is in effect as of 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, and will remain in effect until 7 a.m. Saturday due to forecasted mixed precipitation, including ice and 2 to 4 inches of additional snow.

Parking on any public way is prohibited during the ban, including vehicles, boats and trailers. Violators are subject to ticketing and towing. Depositing snow or ice on or against a fire hydrant, sidewalk or roadway is also prohibited.

Towed vehicles will be taken to the designated town tow lot at the Transfer Station, 5 Woodfin Terrace, Marblehead, or to 171 Boston St., Salem, by Todisco Towing. Vehicle owners should call the Marblehead Police Department at 781-631-1212 to confirm a vehicle’s location.

Residents are encouraged to limit travel, monitor weather updates and take safety precautions during the storm.
