Rebecca Loebe, who first drew national attention on the first season of NBC’s “The Voice,” and Salem songwriter Sarah Blacker will share the Me&Thee stage at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in a show billed as a song swap.
The concert is at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford St. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. with community seating. Desserts, coffee, teas, water and mulled cider are served at each concert, according to the organization.
Loebe is a Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Award winner who has spent the past decade touring, according to the release. It quotes Rolling Stone as describing her music as “mixing resilience, empowerment and just a bit of pissed off punch.”
Blacker was twice named “(Female) Performer of the Year” in the New England Music Awards, was a Boston Music Award nominee and was named a CBS Boston “Artist to Watch,” the release said. She has supported Sara Bareilles, Jefferson Starship, America, Paula Cole, Richard Thompson, Leon Russell, Loudon Wainwright and Suzanne Vega, among others. The release says her vocals are often compared to Joni Mitchell’s.
Tickets are available online at meandthee.org, where Me&Thee says they carry no fees. Locally, they are on sale at Arnould Gallery, 111 Washington St. Phone orders are not accepted, and Me&Thee says no other ticket websites are authorized. The release did not give a ticket price.
Me&Thee is an all-volunteer nonprofit arts organization sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Church. It has operated since 1970.
