The Select Board on Oct. 28 appointed Andrew Garnitz to the Harbors and Waters Board and Donald Henrich to the Conservation Commission.

Garnitz, of Bartlett Street, is a senior project manager at Windover Construction with 18 years in commercial construction, estimating and project management. He grew up sailing at Stramski's and has boated and fished his whole life. His term runs through June 2027.

He told the board he wants to help the harbor "keep things going the way they are" while opening it to everyone. Chair Dan Fox noted that Garnitz, a hockey coach, gave up a practice to attend.

Henrich, a former Autodesk vice president who now runs Henrich Advisory, holds a mechanical engineering degree from Northeastern University. He said stormwater runoff and the health of the harbor drew him to the commission. His term runs through June 2029, and the vote was unanimous. A second commission candidate listed on the agenda withdrew.

Henrich has lived in town since 1987. "Got stranded here in a storm. Bought a house the next day in town on Circle Street, and I've lived here since then," he said.
