Friends of Green St Woods launched Slow Roll Marblehead on May 21 as part of Massachusetts Bike Month, organizer Rick Smyers said.
Smyers said about 15 riders took part in the first ride, a 4-mile route around town at a leisurely pace with stops at Devereux Beach and Crocker Park. The ride took just under an hour, he said.
The group plans to hold rides on the third Thursday of each month. The next ride is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18. Riders should meet at the Beacon.
